20.03.2012 - A new Center for the Alliance française de Bombay

On March 20th, 2012, on the occasion of the ‘Francophonie Day’, the Alliance Française de Bombay opened its ninth French language and culture education centre, in the presence of M. Jean-Raphaël Peytregnet, Consul General of France in Bombay.

Inauguration du centre de Santacruz

Established in Mumbai since 1938, the Alliance Française has developed over the years in sync with the city and its people. In keeping with this policy, the Alliance Française de Bombay invested this year in a dynamic area of Santacruz where there is a large young student population.

Le nouveau centre de Santacruz

Five minutes from the Santacruz railway station, located on the third floor of the former mall HiLife, this new place offers a training programme for all levels, seven days a week. Three classrooms equipped with interactive whiteboard, internet connection and video projectors ensure that students have an optimum receptive ambiance.

La réception du nouveau centre

The centre is expected to gradually become like the Somani centre in Cuffe Parade which is currently the only centre open on weekends. Already having 8 language centres, the Alliance Française de Bombay now firmly establishes its presence in the northwest of the city, along a dynamic axis.

The President of the Alliance Française, Mr. Nadir Godrej, along with Mr. Jean-Raphaël Peytregnet, Consul General of France in Bombay, were the guests of honour at this inauguration ceremony.
