23rd November - Daylong training session for secondary French teachers

Saturday, November 23, at the Hotel Suba Suba International in Andheri East, Langers Publications (who circulate the CLE International, PUG, etc. in India and who are the publishers of FLE which means French as a Foreign Language so called for learning French abroad), in cooperation with the Embassy of France in India for developing the programme and the Alliance française de Bombay (AFB), organized a daylong training session and introduction of FLE books.

Mrs. Anuradha Karkun, trainer and co-author of the textbook ‘Here we go !’ got some 70 odd secondary French teachers from various schools to work on the theme of "participatory pedagogy" after Christian Rodier, French Cooperation Attaché, had them thinking on how to encourage classroom interactions right from the beginner level. David Cordina, academic director of the AFB, presented the Alliance of Bombay : Between tradition and innovation, 75 years of presence in the city. There was an introduction, information on DELF Junior official certificates, FLE training for children, etc.
Then, after the presentation of Education & Beyond, an organization that manages the school exchange programmes and the presentation of the textbook ‘Here we go !’, the teachers took a break for a cup of tea ...
A Saturday entirely devoted to work and educational stimulation, evidence that French teachers of Bombay are motivated and courageous !
