Ceremony in Calcutta to honour the victims of terror attacks worldwide

The Committee of the Alliance Française du Bengale organised a silent vigil in Kolkata on 22 November 2015 to honour the recent victims from all around the world who have been caught up in dastardly carnage, and to protest against the barbarism that has led to these crimes.

More than 120 citizens committed to Liberty, Equality and Fraternity, attended the event and expressed their solidarity with the cause of basic human values and peaceful coexistence.

The Consul General of France in Kolkata Mr. Damien Syed and members from the French expatriate community were joined by many residents from Kolkata in paying homage to those martyred in these cowardly attacks.

Candle lit prayers were held, posters calling for peace were drawn, songs of courage were sung and petals were showered in a coming together of brave minds who showed great unity in this diverse gathering in the face of growing intolerance and terror worldwide.
