France and Manipal University

Mr Eric Lavertu, Consul General of France, and Dr. Jenifer Clark, Attachée for Science and Technology, visited the Manipal University in order to discuss the strong ongoing cooperation between France and the institution. Manipal University has collaborations with more than ten French higher education institutions, in particular the dual degrees with the prestigious ESIGELEC and EICAR schools. In addition, new roads to expand and strengthen collaboration with France were discussed during their meetings with Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr H Vinod Bhat, Director International Collaborations, Dr Ramjee and his colleagues from the university. Others present were Director Manipal Institute of Technology, Dr Vinod Thomas, Director School of Information Sciences, Prof Harishchandra Hebbar, Director Gandhian and Peace Studies, Mr Varadesh Hiregange, Deputy Director International Collaborations, Dr Karunakar Kotegar, Registrar, Dr GK Prabhu, Director School of Life Sciences, Dr K Satyamoorthy, Director PR and Media Communications, Mr Alex Chandy.


A guided tour of the campus of Manipal University allowed both the representatives of the Consulate General of France to appreciative the facilities and infrastructure of the academy. They visited the Experience Theatre, the Marena sports complex, the Anatomy and Pathology Museum, the Medical Simulation Centre, the Health Sciences Library, the Institute of Life Sciences, and the Center for Virus Research.
