French Ministers L.Fabius and S.Royal attend the DSDS

H.E. Mr Laurent Fabius, French Minister of Foreign Affairs and H.E. Ms Ségolène Royal, Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy, came to India on 5 February 2015 on the occasion of the Delhi Sustainable Development Summit (DSDS), organized by TERI.
Minister Fabius concluded the inaugural session of the DSDS with France’s message as the Chair of the crucial Paris climate conference (COP21), which will take place in December 2015. Minister Royal delivered the keynote address of the DSDS ministerial session on 7 February.
The two Cabinet ministers also held meetings with the Indian authorities.

Visit to India of Mr Laurent Fabius - Statement by the Spokesperson, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development, 4th February 2015
Mr Laurent Fabius, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, will travel to India on 5th February 2015. This will be his second visit to this country since the oath of office was administered in May 2014 to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with whom he will hold discussions. Mr Fabius will also meet his Indian counterpart, Smt Sushma Swaraj, Mr Prakash Javadekar, Hon’ble Minister of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, as well as Mr Suresh Prabhu, Hon’ble Minister of Railways.
This visit reflects the importance that we attach to the deepening of the Indo-French strategic partnership, which is exceptional in terms of the degree of its ambition and trust. It also forms part of the preparation for the 2015 Paris Climate Conference. As such, Mr Laurent Fabius will participate in the inaugural session of the Delhi Sustainable Development Summit, a major annual event on sustainable development and the climate.
The Hon’ble Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development will be accompanied by a major delegation of French CEOs representing the sectors of renewable energy, transport, water supply, waste treatment and sustainable cities.
