French presence at the India Aviation 2016 event
The 5th edition of the India Aviation event took place in Hyderabad from 16th to 20th March 2016 with a strong presence of French industrial players.
India Aviation is an event devoted exclusively to civil aviation which takes place once in two years, alternating with the megaevent Aero India in Bangalore, event more focused on Defence aviation.
The French presence was a significant one thanks to the attendance of the forerunners of this industry namely Aribus, Safran, ATR and Dassault.
Institutional presence was represented by the delegation of the French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC) and the Director of the French Civil Aviation University (ENAC). Their objective of being present at this event was to award certificates to the first set of graduates in the Master programme of aeronautics services management, a training provided by the ENAC in Hyderabad in partnership with the DGAC and the Airports Authority of India. 40 out of 50 students cleared this first training programme. The second training programme was also kickstarted on this occasion.
Aerocampus Aquitaine, a French administrative public body providing training, signed a Letter of Intent with the government of Telangana in order to study the possibility of setting up a similar training institute in Hyderabad.
Mr François Gautier, Consul General and Ms. Claude Masegosa, Director of Business France (South India) attended this event in Hyderabad and also took this opportunity to visit the factory of CFM, a joint venture between Safran and GE.
