Highest French civilian distinction, Commandeur de la Légion d’Honneur conferred on Shri Ratan Tata

H.E. Mr François Richier, Ambassador of France to India, conferred the Commandeur de la Légion d’Honneur (Commander of the Legion of Honour) on Shri Ratan Tata.

New Delhi, 18 March 2016

On behalf of the President of the French Republic, H.E. Mr François Richier, Ambassador of France to India, today conferred the highest French civilian distinction, Commandeur de la Légion d’Honneur (Commander of the Legion of Honour) on Shri Ratan Tata, Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons at the Residence of France.

This honour comes in recognition of Mr Tata’s outstanding leadership that made the Tata Group a global name that is consistently ranked among the most trusted brands. His visionary helmsmanship has contributed to boosting industries in India and abroad, including France, where the group has made substantial investments in innovation and production in the steel industry, and Information Technology, among others."
