Inauguration of IFCCI’s Bangalore Chapter

On Thursday 9th October 2014, the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI) celebrated the opening of its Bangalore Chapter with the support of BNP Paribas, Veolia, Sri City and SAS Partners. This official inauguration took place in the august presence of Shri Krishna Byre Gowda, Minister of Agriculture for State, Government of Karnataka and Mr Eric Lavertu, Consul General of France.

Key Governing Council representatives, Mr Ravin Mirchandani, Chairman of Ador Powertron Ltd & Chairman Southern Chapter, Mrs Laura Prasad, Secretary General & Mr Nicolas Ribollet, Mazar & Chairman Northern Chapter, welcomed IFCCI Members and the business community of Bangalore and South India at this occasion.

IFCCI in Bangalore

After Mumbai, New Delhi, and Chennai, the chamber extends this year its activity in India opening a fourth desk in Bangalore.

The objective of this new chapter will be to reinforce trade activities between France and India by proposing IFCCI’s services, with a special focus on strengthening the Indo-French network of professionals within the Karnataka Region.

“Bangalore, best known for its industrial activities in aeronautics and information
technology, is a promising platform for the economic relation between our two countries. More than 170 French companies have established their subsidiaries in the city. 30 members of the IFCCI - French and Indian companies alike - are based in Bangalore and the number will only keep increasing. The aim of the IFCCI Bangalore desk will be to assist them in their expansion projects. We hope Karnataka will become one of the major hubs of the Indo-French economic activities in near the future” underlined Pierre Behnam, President of the Chamber.

The new Bangalore desk will be headed by Mrs. Amandine Judez as Regional Director and will be based in Mazar offices at Gangadhara Chetty Road, Ulsoor.
