A significant event in the region, attracting artists, curators, gallery owners, collectors, museum directors, art enthusiasts and extensive media from all around the world.

Over its five first editions, the art fair has shown in excess of 300 galleries and 3000 artists, highlighting its contribution to the promotion of art among diverse stakeholders. The 6th edition saw 91 exhibiting booths and 1000 artist from around the world.

India Art Fair has an extensive schedule that includes a speakers’ forum and other collateral events, art projects, art book stores, curated walks, etc.

This year, a major French artist will do an exceptional installation at the fair: Mr Daniel Buren.

Daniel Buren is a world-renowned French conceptual artist whose work lies at the crossroads of sculpture, installation and painting, as well as action and intervention. He appropriated a standard format fabric motif of 8.75cm-wide vertical stripes as a visual instrument, or sign, and he is famous for working in situ, always in relation to the setting, its story and context.

His work has been exhibited all over the world for the last 50 years. Being the subject of retrospectives at the Guggenheim Museum, New York (2005) and the Centre Pompidou, Paris (2002), his work is also included in prestigious public and private collections. He has exhibited in the Venice Biennale more than 10 times and was awarded the Golden Lion for his French Pavilion in 1986, but also the Praemium Imperiale in 2007, considered as the Nobel prize for visual arts.

Other events at the fair include:

- Participation of M. Jérôme Poggi. Art critic and historian, owner of a Parisian gallery with the same name, he will be part of the Speakers´ Forum and will be speaking on a panel on Patronage and the Public Space, along with other speakers such as Pooja Sood and Stephan Hilterhaus.
