The Road to Paris: Solutions for COP21

In the lead-up to the Paris Climate Change Conference (COP21) in December this year, the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI) and the Embassy of France in India, in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), organized an Indo-French Seminar on Technological Innovations for Sustainability - The Road to Paris: Solutions for COP21 on wednesday, 8th July 2015 in New Delhi.

H.E. Mr François Richier, Ambassador of France to India delivered the opening remarks.

This seminar showcased Indo-French technological innovations and solutions for addressing climate change ahead of France hosting the COP21 at the end of the year. It focused on key issues such as renewable energy, energy efficiency in industry and buildings, finance mechanisms and policies related to sustainable development. It also explored cooperation opportunities between French and Indian companies in the field of sustainable development.

Paris Climate Change Conference (COP21):

The 21st Conference of the Parties (COP21) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) will take place in Paris in December this year. An effective and equitable international agreement will be critical for reducing greenhouse gas emissions to limit global temperature rise to 2 degrees Celsius and for supporting adaptation to climate impacts. France, as the host and chair of COP21, is committed to the role of an impartial facilitator for forging an ambitious agreement at COP 21.
