Indo French workshop on colour and light held in Kolkata

The Consul General of France in Kolkata Mr. Damien Syed and Deputy Consul Mr. Frederic Lecourt participated in a workshop ’New perspective on colour and light: sciences, arts and humanities’ held on 12 – 13th November 2015 at the University of Jadavpur Kolkata India.
Mr Syed who inaugurated the workshop, was the Chief Guest at the occasion and addressed the gathering by speaking on the growing bilateral ties between the Indo French scientific community, which has found ample representation through the work done by CEFIPRA.
9 French professors participated in this seminar. The workshop was funded by the Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research (CEFIPRA).
This workshop offers an interdisciplinary forum on colour and light new technologies and their impact in society with the aim to foster Indo-French collaborations across academic and industrial sectors.

The programme covered 4 major topics:
1- Nano-engineered colours
2- Lighting: new technologies and aesthetics
3- Colour management and technical applications
4- Colour in Art and Communication
