Mr Damien SYED’s résumé
Mr. Damien SYED graduated from the University of Paris (Master in European law) and the National Institute for Oriental Languages and Civilizations in Paris (Hindi, Urdu). He holds the position of Foreign Affairs Advisor.
After his admission to the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2002, he worked as head of section at the Directorate for French nationals abroad then, for three years, as desk officer for Mali and Guinea at the Africa & Indian Ocean Division. From 2009 to 2012, he was in charge of Afghanistan and Pakistan at the Asia & Oceania Division.
Before being posted to India, Damien SYED was political counsellor at the Embassy of France in Malaysia.
He is Consul General of France in Calcutta since 1 September 2015.
