Visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development to India [fr]

The Hon’ble Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development of France, H.E Mr. Laurent Fabius was on an official visit to India from 30th June-1st July, 2014. Earlier, Mr. Fabius had accompanied President Hollande during his State visit to India in February, 2013.
During his stay in New Delhi, the Foreign Minister held talks with External Affairs Minister, Smt. Sushma Swaraj. Both sides discussed bilateral, regional and global issues of mutual interest. He has also met Hon’ble Defence & Finance Minister, Shri Arun Jaitley and called on Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi.
India and France share a warm and friendly bilateral relationship. The two countries share common perspectives on a wide variety of issues in the global arena. The visit of the French Foreign Minister helped in establishing contact with the new leadership in India and also provided an opportunity for reiteration of the strategic importance of the Indo-French relationship.
Mr. Fabius was accompanied by an official delegation, with whom he visited Mumbai on Tuesday, 1 July, 2014.
