Visit of the Director General of the French institute INPI

A French delegation of 3 members led by Dr Yves Lapierre, CEO & General Commissioner, Director General of the French National Industrial Property Institute (INPI) visited Bangalore on 28th April 2016. The National Industrial Property Institute is the national intellectual property office of France, in charge of patents, trademarks and industrial design rights. The main objectives of the visit to India was to exchange views, information and best practices on Innovation, Intellectual Property & collaborative research; INPI being a major actor of the innovation policy in France. The delegation was accompanied by Consul General of France in Bangalore Mr. François Gautier, Mr Renaud Gaillard Counselor Intellectual Property, Embassy of France in India, Dr. Jenifer Clark Science Attaché, Embassy of France and Ms Claude Maségosa, Business France India, Managing Director Bangalore.


In Bangalore the delegation visited Biocon Limited and met Ms. Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw chairman and managing director of Biocon Limited. In addition the delegation also visited Infosys and met Ms Anjali Balagopal Head of Intellectual Property Practice of Infosys Limited. At Axilor Ventures Private Limited, Mr. Ganapathy Venugopal CEO of Axilor welcomed the delegation and presented various programme of Axilor for the startups. The Bangalore visit was concluded with discussions on IP and innovation with C-Camp director Dr. Taslimarif Saiyed and interactions with some of the representatives of life sciences startups incubated at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP), NCBS-TIFR. On this occasion the delegation also paid a visit to technology platform of the C-CAMP.
