World Cinema Support co-managed by the CNC and the Institut français had its first commission in 2012 and already an Indian project rewarded.

The First Committee of World Cinema Support was held in late July under the chairmanship of Dora Bouchoucha, with the assistance of two vice-presidents, Georges Goldenstern and Santiago Amigorena.

There are 14 film projects from around the world who have been awarded, the Indian project Lunchbox by Ritesh Batra being one of them. It is a co-production between India (AKFPL), United States (Cine Mosaic) and France (ASAP Films).

Subsidies range between 60,000 and 150,000 euros.

World Cinema Support, co-managed by the CNC and the Institut français, is a selective aid given to foreign filmmakers of all countries when they want to drive their project in coproduction with France. It is reserved for projects such as feature film, animation, or creative documentary.

The next call for proposals will be open from 22nd to 31st October 2012.
